The Rev. James Reeb always listened to his gut. James Reeb was willing to help the black people when that was not acceptable.
His full name is James Joseph Reeb, he was born on Jan 1, 1927 into a poor family. he went to school like a normal american, he graduated high school,then he enlisted in the army. James Reeb served in the World War II army. After the war he attended Olaf College to become a chaplain. James volunteered at a hospital with inner city youth which got him interested in their lives. This lead him to not liking what was going on between the whites and the blacks. This is what got him interested in the Civil Rights Movement.
James got married to a girl named Marie Deason on August 20th and had four children together. He ,his wife and four kids lived in a poor black neighborhood.
Reeb helped blacks at church more than he worked at the church. James Reeb ate at an integrated restaurant he was beaten to death for helping the civil rights movement he died two days later after the attack. He was a traditionalist then he became part of a universitalist church, he wanted to be part of the civil rights movement.
