The Civil Rights Movement The Civil Rights movement was the process of black people and white people fighting for rights of the people. To stop the racism, to give rights too every race, and too every religious belief/groups.There were lots of protests like the freedom riders. It was a huge ordeal in the southern states. Thousands of peoples lives were taken for this cause and there perseverance paid off. It helped solve the big racism problem down in the southern states. It brought this country to what it is now when blacks can go to the same school as whites. Also too stop the segregation of buses schools etc.

1933-1957 Willie Edwards Jr was 25 when he died. He was an average man just going to work. He had a wife and daughter. It was devastating to his family. He had never taken part in any civil rights demonstrations or protests. He was devoted to supporting his family.
It was a dark night in Montgomery, Alabama above the cold Alabama river. They had abducted him when he was driving to work to fill in for another employee who was sick. He was mistaken for someone else who was dating a white woman. They took him and drove him around town harassing him beating him. Until they got to the Tyler-Goldwyn bridge where he stood on the ledge and they help a gun to him. They said jump or we'll shoot. So he jumped. Fisherman found his decomposed body washed up on a riverbank three months after his death.

Willie Edwards was a good young man that had done nothing or participated in any civil rights acts. He was killed by the KKK clans men who mistakes him for another man. It was a devastating loss too his family. He had a wife and a daughter. She was only 9 years old when he died. He died just like the other thousands of black and white men and women.
